Jonathan J. Macko CFP®
I’m a Certified Financial Planner™ focused on helping people turn their savings into a retirement plan that actually works and helping them stay on track once they’re there.
Most of the people I w
ork with have done a good job building up 401(k)s, IRAs, and other accounts over time.
What they usually need is someone to help bring everything together, simplify it, and make sure it supports real-life retirement income.
I grew up in Upstate New York and graduated from the University of Miami. I started my career as a financial advisor in 2009 and have worked with clients through a wide range of market environments.
Over time, that experience shaped how I approach planning today—less focused on chasing returns, and more focused on building something that holds up in real life.
I spent several years at larger firms, including Morgan Stanley, before moving to an independent practice in 2022.
That transition allowed me to focus more on personalized planning and build my practice around a simpler, more practical approach—helping clients stay prepared, not just invested.
As a CFP®, I follow a fiduciary standard and meet rigorous education, examination, and continuing education requirements to provide thoughtful, client focused advice.
My focus is on helping individuals and families prepare not just for expected goals, but for the realities and uncertainties that come with retirement.
I live in Upstate South Carolina with my wife and our three daughters. Much of our time is centered around family, church, and our local community.
That perspective carries into my work. I see financial planning not just as numbers on a page, but as a way to support stability, flexibility, and peace of mind for your family.
I am also the author of High-Five Retirement: Because of Your Hard Work, You Might Be Able to Retire Early and Well, where I outline a simple and practical approach to retirement planning focused on clarity, confidence, and long term stability.
